Aquaflask vs Tyeso: Which Tumbler Is Actually Worth It?
- Tyeso is usually the better value, often as a full set with a handle and straw.
- Aquaflask makes more sense for long-term use, more sizes, replaceable lids and resale value.
- Insulation numbers are brand and seller claims. We didn't run our own tests.
- Aquaflask is heavily faked, so buy from the official store or a trusted retailer.
- With Tyeso, read the 3-star reviews to judge each seller.
Walk into any office, campus or gym in the Philippines and count the tumblers. A lot of them will be Aquaflask, and more and more will be Tyeso. Both are double-wall stainless steel, both promise cold water for hours, and both have loyal fans. The difference is mostly price, and what you get for it.

This comparison uses brand claims, product listings and what keeps coming up in buyer reviews. We didn't run our own ice-melt tests, so every insulation figure here is what the brand or seller advertises, not something we measured.
Which one should you buy?
If you're watching your budget, Tyeso is usually the better value. It costs a fraction of an Aquaflask and often comes as a set with a handle and a straw. If you want a long-established local brand with lots of sizes, lids you can replace later and decent resale value, a genuine Aquaflask is worth paying more for. The word that matters there is genuine.
Students and anyone on a tight budget: Tyeso. Daily use for years with the option to swap lids: Aquaflask. Either way, buy from a trusted seller and wait for a voucher.
Aquaflask
Aquaflask is one of the most recognizable tumbler brands among Filipino shoppers, and it did a lot to make the insulated tumbler an everyday thing here. You pay more, and what you're paying for is the brand, the range of sizes and the accessories.
It comes in many sizes, from small bottles up to big jugs, so there's usually one that fits your cup holder, gym bag or desk. The brand advertises roughly a day of cold retention and several hours for hot drinks. How long it really lasts depends on the weather, how much ice you put in and how often you open it. Lids come in flip-top, straw and twist styles, and you can buy replacements, which is a big part of why owners keep theirs for years. There are plenty of colors and limited editions too.
The catch is that Aquaflask is one of the most counterfeited products on Philippine marketplaces. Fakes are everywhere and don't insulate the same way. More on avoiding them below.

Tyeso
Tyeso is the cheaper, more minimalist option that took off on TikTok Shop and Shopee. For everyday use, it's often close enough to the pricier brands that a lot of buyers don't feel the difference.
It's frequently much cheaper than an Aquaflask, and many listings include a handle, a straw and an extra lid. It also uses double-wall vacuum insulation, and listings commonly advertise several hours of cold and longer for hot drinks, though the numbers vary from one listing to the next. Most have a built-in handle or lifting ring and a spout lid. The wide-top, narrow-bottom shape is supposed to fit standard cup holders, but check the size you're ordering.
Because so many shops carry Tyeso, quality varies more from seller to seller. That makes reviews more important here than with a single-brand store.

Matching the tumbler to your day
For a student, Tyeso makes the most sense. You get a handle-and-straw set for about the price of a bare Aquaflask, and it holds up fine to campus life. For a commuter or gym-goer who wants something to last years, the build and replaceable lids of an Aquaflask are worth it. As a gift, either works: Aquaflask if the brand matters to the person, Tyeso if you want more for your budget. And if you're the type who leaves tumblers in jeepneys, go with Tyeso. It hurts less to replace.
How to avoid a fake
The general warning signs are in our guide to spotting fake products online. For tumblers specifically:
For Aquaflask, buy from the brand's official store on the marketplace or from a retailer you trust. Random third-party listings are where most fakes are. Look closely at the photos and reviews for logo printing, finish and weight, and at any serial or QR details the brand uses. If the price is far below the official store's, that alone is a warning.
For Tyeso, sort by the number of reviews and read the 3-star ones. That's where the leak and durability complaints show up, and it tells you a lot about that particular seller.
Looking after it
Hand-wash the lid and especially the rubber gasket, and let both dry fully before closing the tumbler, otherwise it starts to smell. Avoid dropping it, because a deep dent can affect the insulation. And check what the lid is rated for before pouring in anything very hot. Not every straw lid is meant for hot coffee.
When to buy
Tumblers are a common pick in double-day and payday sales, and the same one can be noticeably cheaper with vouchers stacked. Our voucher stacking guide shows how. For other everyday picks at a low price, see our budget buying guide.
There isn't one winner, only the right tumbler for your budget and habits. Want the most for your money? Get a Tyeso set. Want a lid lineup and a brand that holds its value? Get a genuine Aquaflask. Either way, the worst buy is a fake, so the seller matters as much as the brand.
